What's colon hydrotherapy all about?

Colon hydrotherapy, or colonic irrigation as it’s also known, is a simple process of introducing temperature regulated, filtered water into the large intestine, to help rinse, eliminate waste, promote whole body detoxification and reset it. And most importantly, without the need for any drugs.

At Flow Clinic we provide a private and safe environment for your treatment with our trained professionals guiding you through the process. There are a number of reasons that you might choose to have colon hydrotherapy.

Perhaps you are suffering from constipation or diarrhoea and need immediate assistance. Or you could be suffering with more long term illnesses or symptoms such as IBS, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, halitosis or skin conditions including acne and psoriasis. Whatever the reason might be, at your initial consultation we can discuss how we are going to achieve the best results for you.

Colon hydrotherapy is effective, painless and many patients find the therapy to be relaxing! After the treatment, it is not uncommon to leave with not only a boost in energy and vitality but also a sense of rejuvenation and mental clarity.

How does it work?

A small speculum is inserted into the rectum allowing a carefully controlled stream of water to pass into the colon. This softens hardened faecal matter that has built up in the colon over years and dislodges excess mucus and gas. The rinsing of the colon is also effective at removing yeast, worms and parasites.

It’s this safe introduction of water that helps to stimulate the colon’s natural peristaltic action (the involuntary muscle movement that moves food through your gastrointestinal tract) encouraging you to naturally expel the waste. The sensation is that familiar feeling of needing to go to the bathroom, except this time you are releasing all the built up waste that has been lining your colon!
